(Kaishandao - Mandarin for “machete”) is a guitarist and hardware producer emerging from Chengdu’s vibrant underground scene. She produces a distinctive sound of complex origins and eccentric imperfections, chopping a lost and found cultural heritage into a playful blend of dystopian dance music. Positive Affirmations is a dreamy melancholic blend which reverberates sonic realms between lo-fi and hi-fi.

“Sweet phone calls. The Fu River. An illuminated bridge. Night visions. This track was composed in a Chengdu bedroom using a drum machine, electric guitar and a spoken word sample by Wellington poet Hera Lindsay Bird. Made for floating and alleviation. Dedicated to the power of mutual support from/for loved ones.”
